Things in our community continue changing almost daily. For most of this season we continue receiving reports from OGH (Ochiltree General Hospital) revealing that our community was testing for COVID-19, without positive cases. That changed today. As of April 27th, we have 20 confirmed positive COVID-19 tests with one death related to COVID-19. Ochiltree County guidelines were set in place to help guide us through having positive tests and what changes we, as residents, would be asked to make. We quickly went from Level Yellow (Phase 2) to Level Red (Phase 4). The change of levels is due to the number of positive cases. Our church operations have changed in response to the changing Phases. The changes are not significant, but they have been implemented to comply with county guidelines, state executive orders, and national guidelines. Here is how Community Worship Center is responding to Level Red.
CWC continues to operate business daily. Our staff are available for conversations or to provide support during this unique season. If you need to come to the church office, then please call first and set up an appointment. We continue worshipping! CWC hosts our weekly Sunday morning gathering at 10:30am through a live broadcast (FB Live, live.cwcperryton.org, and ROKU Channel – Community Worship Center). We also host a midweek worship gathering for CWC Kids and Mpact Direct through our same options as Sunday worship. Each broadcast follows the same guidelines set in place by CWC Leadership and in compliance with local, state, and national guidelines. One change to the worship opportunities is to have a limited number of people participate. We have less than 10 people in each area of broadcast, we are limiting the number of people participating in these actions, we maintain a minimum 6 feet distance between participants, and we disinfect the areas and equipment used prior to and immediately following each event. We strive to share the gospel and facilitate worship while honoring guidelines set in place by governing authorities in a safe environment for our participants.
CWC continues providing care and meals for our people who are 70 years of age or older. We continue working through Jireh to provide groceries for people who are at Food Risk in our community. Jireh operates using safety protocols keeping our servants and our clients safe. We continue hosting youth ministry bible studies for Jr Hi and High school students through weekly video conferencing. We are working with our adult groups to connect through phone calls and video conferencing to provide care and encouragement. CWC continues to find ways to Gather!
CWC Leadership will continue working with current information to determine operating effectively. We know that we will be together in person soon, and until then, we will worship together in spirit and encourage each other in truth. The Church is still commissioned to join God in His redemptive work. Keep being the Church!
Acts 9:31 English Standard Version (ESV)
31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
Continue praying for each other. Continue praying for our leadership. Continue praying for God to do amazing things to draw more people to Himself during this time. Pray that the Church will be an empowering place building people up to obey and participate with God. Continue being Ministers of Hope sharing Seeds of Hope. Encourage each other as you can. Praise God!
