LIFE Group Lesson – RADICAL #12

Bible Discussion: Pastor Mike continued our "Radical Series." This week we heard a testimony from one of our LIFE Group leaders about how God put it in his heart to plant a church in Africa. One of the 5 goals of Life Groups is to do various mission projects, and Jason presented this to his Life Group a few weeks ago. They agreed that it would be a project that they could and should do. After consulting with Pastor Mike, it was decided to send Jason to Africa to scout out the possibilities with his acquaintance and translator Arnold Nkemba. As it turns out, Arnold had left his government job, sold everything he had to attend Bible College, and he will graduate in November. They found a location to purchase a plot of ground for a church and discipling center, and Jason put a down payment on the lot. After returning to Perryton, with the support of the Life Group and Pastor Mike, CWC has completed the purchase of the land for approximately $800. READ Matthew 18:18-20 Jason said that as he heard the messages and read the book Radical, that God impressed him to use his experience and contacts in Africa to accomplish the Great Commission. Do you believe God can speak to us in specific ways? Have you ever heard God in a similar way? What happened?
The plan will continue to hopefully bring Arnold from Africa to Perryton in August to spend a few weeks with our church leaders and congregation… This will allow us to get acquainted with our new pastor in Africa, and show him how our church functions. We are also exploring the possibilities of building a church building on the lot as the next step in the process.
